Transport of a knuckleboom, South Africa

ALE successfully transports a 123te knuckleboom, using 28 axles of SPMT, in Cape Town, South Africa.

The new knuckleboom is due to be installed on the Saipem 3000 as a smaller service crane. The knuckleboom height and high cog required a wider trailer configuration to ensure stability.

The manoeuvrability of the SPMTs allowed the sharp turns needed for the safe access onto the dry dock area.
