Ship Loader, Qatar

ALE successfully completed the land transportation, load-out, marine transportation and load-in of a 350te Ship Loader from Bahrain to Qatar.

The Ship Loader was lifted and transported to the quay edge using 30 axles of SPMT. It was then loaded-out onto the ALE 250 Class barge using ballast pumps to ensure the barge deck and the quay side were kept level. The Ship Loader was then sea fastened and transported to Ras Laffan, Qatar.

Once in Qatar, it was loaded-in, manoeuvred, offloaded and finally installed using a strand jack and skidding method. ALE also completed all of the engineering calculations for the project.
