Replacement of two generators, Brae Alpha

ALE was awarded the contract to replace 2 generators as part of a power generation upgrade to the Brae Alpha platform.

ALE conducted the jack up, weighing and skid out of the existing 260te machines, to allow them to be replaced.

The existing machines were required to be jacked up in order to install the removal steelwork and the ALE skid system. ALE used six 100te climbing jacks. ALE then weighed both generators using the 200te capacity compression load cells.

ALE also weighed and loaded out the replacement generators onto a cargo barge using SPMT’s. Once the barge arrived at Brae Alpha ALE skidded the new generators inboard by use of its 150te skid system. Both generators were then jacked into their final position.
