ALE installed a 64 metre long road bridge utilising strand jacks, SPMTs, skidding plates, climbing jacks, a barge and a 250te mobile crane.
The first stage of the one day launch was completed by skidding the bridge 27 metres from its starting position. The barge was then positioned underneath the bridge so that it could be skidded a further 32 metres over the barge. A mobile crane was then used to lift a third of the weight of the bridge and to assist with positioning the West-side onto its supports. The barge was then removed and the East-side of the bridge was lowered onto its final position.
